In fact, hominy is a light corn porridge cooked from flour or finely ground cereals. The finished dish is traditionally laid out on a wooden board and cut with a coarse thread.
Ingredients
- Corn flour - 2 glasses
- Water (purified) – 6 glasses
- Salt - to taste
Step-by-step cooking recipe
Boil water in a cast-iron cauldron, add salt and mix.
Pour cornmeal into boiling water in a thin stream, stirring continuously.
Cook for 30-35 minutes on very low heat. Stir constantly so that the porridge does not burn.
Turn off the heat and leave the porridge under the lid for 15 minutes.
With a confident movement, turn the cauldron onto a wooden board. Do not use a plate, otherwise hominy will "sweat" and it will not work.
